Darling's Ice Cream for a Cause

 

Our goal when we launched Darling's Ice Cream for a Cause in 2012 was simple: find a way to have some fun, do some good in our communities, and make people smile.  The concept of Darling's Ice Cream for a Cause is that we offer free, pre-packaged ice cream in exchange for voluntary donations for causes in our community.  To achieve this goal, our talented in-house team designed and built this truck, and since then, it's exploded in popularity.  The ice cream truck, manned by our dedicated team of Ice Cream Ambassadors, attends events all over Maine to help raise funds for causes and organizations in need.  In recent years, we've expanded the program to our in-store freezers, offering free ice cream in exchange for voluntary donations at each of our auto dealerships year-round.  

We are typically on the road, weather-permitting from April 1st to October 31st each year.  During the season, you can find a current schedule on our Ice Cream for a Cause website.  Our in-store freezers are available year-round, and the causes change each month - the current causes for each store are listed on our Ice Cream for a Cause website.

We invite you to visit the Ice Cream for a Cause website and request a stop for your event. All donations collected are given to the charity or cause of your choice.  We typically review requests approximately six weeks prior to the event date to confirm our availability.  We try to maximize the number of events we attend so we can help raise the most money for as many causes as we can.  100% of the money raised at each event goes to the designated cause.  We attend all kinds of events, including open houses, sporting events, concerts, parades, Touch-A-Trucks, fundraisers, family fun days, fairs, festivals, car shows, and more!
