Darling's Hosting Women & Wheels on October 14th

Hundreds of local women will learn empowering information and gain a better understanding of their vehicle after attending the 2nd Annual Women & Wheels event hosted by Darling's Ford on the Hogan Road in Bangor on October 10, 2012.

"Women influence a majority of all automotive-related purchase decisions, but in many cases they are still uneasy with being at a dealership, whether it's for sales or service.  We aim to help women reach that level of comfort, regardless of where they go for their automotive needs," said Carrie Meo, director of Fixed Operations.

The event goes from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and will feature catered appetizers, delicious sweet treats, and a wine bar.  The first 150 pre-registrants will receive a swag bag full of goodies and giveaways, as well as a free car wash.   All attendees will be entered to win several door prizes, including the grand prize of a spa day for their car.

Darling's started the Women & Wheels series in 2011 to help bring informative and educational automotive information to women of all skill and interest levels.  Attendees get a chance to look and learn about the systems that are under the hood and underneath a vehicle, as well as ask their own car related questions to a panel of automotive experts from service, sales, finance, and insurance.  Over 150 women attended the first Women & Wheels clinic in 2011, and Darling's is expecting increased interest and attendance this year.

In conjunction with last year's event, Darling's launched the Women & Wheels website (located at women.darlings.com) to create a safe and educational place for women to ask their automotive questions.  Each question is passed on to a panel of experts to answer, then the answers are posted on the site for everyone to read and learn from.
