Located approximately 1 hour 10 minutes from Bangor, this beautiful natural seawall offers plenty of beachcombing, picnicing, and photo taking oppourtunities. As part of Acadia National Park, Seawall is usually less trafficked than the main part of the park, but still great for a day trip.

Plenty of parking is available, including a number of mobility-friendly spots right along the ocean, where you can see the waves and the horizon right from the car. There is a picnic area, as well as some additional scattered picnic tables, leaving plenty of space for social distancing.

Plenty of rocky shore means chances to find plenty of shells and sea glass, and granite shelves on the shoreline often have shallow tide pools for exploring.
A number of short, family-friendly hikes are located nearby, including Wonderland and Ship Harbor Nature Trail. These are both shorter (1.3 and 1.4 miles) hikes that feature woods and waters. Just a short drive away, you can also include a stop at the Bass Harbor Head Light to make a day of it.

We always recommend making sure you are prepared with proper footwear, snacks for the road, and making sure your vehicle is in tip-top shape. Have fun while you're adventuring and enjoying our beautiful summer!
